Microsoft itself provides ** quarterly更新的 Windows 11 Enterprise Evaluation Virtual Machines** – and yes, they come in Qcow2 format. Microsoft does not officially provide Windows 11 downloads
Prerequisites: QEMU, libvirt, and virt-manager installed. Open Virtual Machine Manager
For KVM / Virt-Manager (Linux Desktop)
- Open Virtual Machine Manager.
- Click "New VM" -> "Import existing disk image".
- Browse to your
win11.qcow2 file.
- Choose OS type "Windows" and version "Windows 11".
- Before starting, go to VM details -> SATA Disk 1 -> Advanced -> Disk bus:
VirtIO (requires VirtIO drivers; if the image lacks them, keep SATA).
- Under "Firmware", select
UEFI x86_64: /usr/share/OVMF/OVMF_CODE.secboot.fd for Secure Boot.
- Add a TPM 2.0: VM details -> Add Hardware -> TPM 2.0.
- Start the VM.
