14. Killey
- A fan favorite with a cool design. Killey has decent stats and good rune affinity, but he is somewhat of a "jack of all trades, master of none." He doesn't hit as hard as Georg or cast as fast as Luc.
- Riou (Protagonist, player avatar): As the player’s customizable leader, Riou’s stat growth, rune versatility, and early-game recruitment flexibility make him indispensable. He can be specialized into physical or rune roles; coupled with quality equipment, he remains a top performer throughout.
- Jowy: Outstanding mixture of stats, skillset, and narrative weight. Jowy’s balanced growth and unique story scenes make him both a mechanical powerhouse and one of the emotional centers of the plot.
- Viktor: High durability, excellent offense, and the signature weapon (Viktor’s fighting style) make him a go-to frontliner. He’s also central to the story and offers reliable battle performance from mid- to late-game.
- Nanami: Exceptional magic user; when adequately leveled and equipped, her fire-based magic (plus high MAG stat) is devastating and she unlocks later scenes that deepen the story.
- Flik (or other strong recruiters depending on route): Characters who join with strong early contributions and scale well into late-game (e.g., strong early damage dealers or support) often belong here.
Zamza: A well-rounded fighter with high HP. His Fire Dragon Rune is strong but causes self-damage, requiring specific equipment or healing to manage. suikoden+2+tier+list
The “Wait, Are They Secretly S-Tier?” Honorable Mentions
- Bob the Werewolf – His transformation is amazing, but he has awful magic defense. High risk, high reward.
- Lorelai – Joins early, leaves, rejoins weak. If you power-level her, she’s A-tier. Most people don’t bother.
: Widely considered the best mage in the game due to a massive Magic stat and high speed. Beyond the 108: The Definitive Suikoden II Combat
: Another top-tier physical attacker with three slots and high "Maximum Potential Damage". Georg Prime A fan favorite with a cool design
