Studio 5000 Version 35
1. Key New Features in V35 (vs. V34)
- Native ASCII Serial Port Support on certain CompactLogix 5370/5380 and ControlLogix 5570/5580 controllers (requires firmware 35.011+). No more MSG instructions for simple serial ASCII.
- Enhanced Safety Task performance and diagnostics (CIP Safety updates).
- Improved Export/Import – XML export now includes controller-scope tags, I/O configuration, and safety signatures.
- Git Integration – Direct version control inside Studio (Team Development Environment).
- New Instructions –
TOT(Totalizer) andDERIV(Derivative) for process control.
P_SD (Process Discrete): A 2-, 3-, or 4-state device instruction.
- Supported: ControlLogix 5580, CompactLogix 5380, GuardLogix 5580.
- Unsupported: v35 does not support the older L6x series (ControlLogix 5560/5561). If you have a plant full of L71s or L72s, you can use v35, but if you have older L61s, you generally cannot flash them to v35 firmware. Always check the Release Notes for the specific firmware compatibility matrix.
