• Check Output Device inside Soundplant → Settings → Audio Output → select your correct interface (not “default” if it’s wrong).
• Make sure System Volume Mixer hasn’t muted Soundplant.
• Try switching between MME and WASAPI (Windows) or Core Audio (Mac).
• Test with a known-good .wav or .mp3 file (48 kHz / 16-bit WAV works best).

• Without Fixed: A variable velocity might inadvertently reset the filter cutoff or amplitude envelope, causing an audible "pop" or volume swell.
• With Fixed (80): The drone enters smoothly at a predictable level, allowing the performer to layer other sounds on top without gain-staging issues.
