What changed in the "New" BIOS?

1. Anti-mod protection: Later BIOS versions actively check for a wobbling signal from cheap modchips.
2. CD-R read adjustments: Sony tweaked the servo timing, making some burned discs harder to read (or conversely, more stable with high-quality media).
3. LibCrypt tweaks: Minor changes to the anti-piracy execution path.

Advice

• 1. Download the latest PCSX2.
  2. Use a tool like "PS2 BIOS Dumper" (Homebrew) on a memory card.
  3. Run the FreeDVDBoot exploit (one of the few that works on the 90006 "new" BIOS) to launch uLaunchELF.
  4. Execute the dumper.
  5. Copy the extracted .rom files to your computer.
