Phase 1: Preparation

1. Connect a battery charger (minimum 20 Amp). Do not skip this.
2. Install the drivers for your MDI/VCI.
3. Install Techline Connect / GDS2 on a Windows 10/11 laptop.
4. Connect your VCI to the laptop via USB or LAN (Wi-Fi is too risky).
5. Connect the VCI to the car’s OBD2 port. Turn the ignition to "ON" (engine off, dash lights on).

• Enter the VIN manually or let the tool auto-detect it.
• The system will query the database and display the vehicle details (Model, Year, Engine Type).
