With the push to cloud-first strategies, are offline installers dying? Partially, yes. Microsoft is aggressively migrating to Windows Autopilot and Intune, where the OS downloads Office on demand from the cloud during the "Out of Box Experience."

Download: Check the box for Download an offline installer, select your preferred language, and click Download.

Customizable Deployment: Using the Office Deployment Tool (ODT), admins can select exactly which apps to install and specify languages through an XML configuration file.

For the same PC: Run setup.exe /configure config-install.xml

For offline PCs: Copy the entire C:\ODT folder (including the Office subfolder and setup.exe) to a USB drive. Paste it onto the target computer's desktop. Run the configure command from that local path.

Mac Users: You can download the full PKG from the Microsoft VLSC if you have a volume license. Standard retail users must use the web installer or the App Store.

Security: Allows for installation on devices kept in high-security, air-gapped, or remote environments.
