Living Together — v0.37 — By Advent Games
Living Together is a short, evocative piece exploring the small, strange negotiations that tether two people sharing a single life. Use this draft as a starting point for a vignette, game dialogue, or slice-of-life scene.
- The Mood System: Each character has a hidden "Mood" stat. Unlike health bars, moods are influenced by the apartment’s cleanliness, noise levels, and even the weather. Leave a mess in the kitchen? Your neat-freak roommate will have a "Frustrated" debuff all day.
- Shared Finance vs. Separate: The game allows you to propose a shared grocery budget. In v0.37, this system has been rebalanced. If you freeload too often, roommates will confront you via a new "House Meeting" event.
- The Calendar: The game progresses week by week. Rent is due on the 1st, bills on the 15th. Missing payments has tangible consequences, including eviction game-overs or forced moves to worse apartments.
Character Roster: Meet Your Roommates
Living Together v0.37 currently features four primary roommates (with two more teased in the development roadmap): Living Together- -v0.37- By Advent Games
- Main Menu: Access the main menu by clicking on the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner. Here, you can manage your game settings, access the journal, and view your achievements.
- Partner Panel: The partner panel displays your partner's emotions, needs, and relationships. This panel is located on the right side of the screen and provides valuable insights into your partner's state of mind.
- Daily Routine: The daily routine section allows you to manage your daily schedule, including work, leisure activities, and personal tasks.
- Home and Environment: The game's environment is dynamic, and you can interact with various objects and furniture in your home.
- Added: Laundry Compromise mini-game.
- Added: 2 dialogue branches for “Morning Person vs. Night Owl.”
- Fixed: Bug where cleaning schedule reset improperly.
- Tuned: Emotional weight of “Left the Milk Out” event (less punishing, more humorous).
Flexibility and a willingness to compromise are essential. Small gestures of appreciation and maintaining "date nights" outside of the home can help keep the relationship vibrant amidst the daily routines of domestic life. Conclusion Living Together — v0
