Mastering Kumon Reading Level I2 is a badge of honor for any student. It signals a readiness for high-school-level English and competitive standardized testing. While the verified answer book is a powerful tool for guidance and grading, the true value lies in the struggle with the text itself. Use the keys to check your work, learn from your mistakes, and sharpen your critical thinking skills.

    1. Use the "Reread" Rule

The golden rule of Kumon is to look back at the passage. If a student gets a question wrong, the instinct is to ask for the answer. Instead, ask: "Which line in the text tells you the answer?" Level I2 answers are almost always explicitly supported by the text, even the inference questions. Guide the student to find the specific sentence that proves their answer.

"A summary is a factual retelling of the plot events in chronological order. A theme is the underlying message or lesson about life revealed through those events. For example, summarizing 'The boy wins a race after training' is not a theme. The theme would be 'Perseverance leads to success.'"

Verdict: Never pay for a PDF claiming to be "verified." The only official way is through your enrolled Kumon center.
