The Hinari Access to Research in Health programme provides registered institutions in developing countries with access to one of the world's largest collections of biomedical and health literature. Feature: Institutional Single Sign-On (SSO)

What is Hinari?

Hinari is a well-known budget-friendly brand specializing in small home appliances and consumer electronics. While the brand does not produce high-end "smart home" ecosystems like Samsung or LG, some of their modern devices (Wi-Fi enabled microwaves, air fryers with digital panels, or media players) require user authentication. Additionally, many users confuse the Hinari username password with router logins, as Hinari-branded routers were briefly distributed in Europe during the early 2010s.

For a Hinari TV or Display:

Some older Hinari LCD TVs have a hotel lock or parental control password. Defaults include 0000, 1234, or 1111. If those fail, search for "Hinari TV service menu unlock" using a specific remote code (often MENU + 1+1+2+5).

Hinari (Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative) is a flagship program under the Research4Life umbrella. Established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with major publishers, Hinari provides free or low-cost online access to thousands of scientific journals, books, and databases to biomedical and health institutions in low- and middle-income countries.

Password Security: For general password management, tools like Passbolt or DbVisualizer offer features like master password protection and encrypted storage. Passbolt: Open Source Password Manager for Teams

Access to Hinari is strictly institutional; individual user accounts for the general public do not exist. Instead, eligible institutions (universities, research centers, hospitals) are provided with a common institutional username and password by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Research4Life.
