    • No official support – Foxconn removed most legacy BIOS downloads after ~2018.
    • OEM lock – Prebuilt systems often require BIOS updates only from the system brand, not Foxconn.
    • Irreversible brick – A mismatch or failed flash = dead board unless you use an SPI programmer.
    1. Create a FreeDOS USB: Download Rufus. Select your USB, choose FreeDOS as the bootable option. Format.
    2. Copy BIOS files: Extract the downloaded BIOS archive. You should see:

      1. Press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.
      2. Look for "BIOS Version/Date". It will read something like: American Megatrends Inc. 5.12, 12/5/2012.
      3. Or reboot and press F2 or Del to enter the BIOS setup. The version number is usually at the top or bottom of the screen.
