Chromeleon License File

The Chromeleon license file is a critical software component that contains version information and purchased options for the Thermo Scientific™ Chromeleon™ Chromatography Data System (CDS). Its management varies significantly between older versions (Chromeleon 7.2 and below) and newer versions (Chromeleon 7.3 and above). Key Concepts and Components

Before You Upgrade:

  1. Deactivate (not delete) your old license via the License Manager.
  2. Save the deactivation receipt (a .txt file with confirmation codes).
  3. Uninstall the old version.

2. Distributed Server (Client/Server)

This is the most common setup for larger labs. The license file sits on a dedicated Chromeleon License Server (often called the License Manager). All client workstations and instrument controllers check in with that server. You never install the license file on the individual workstations. chromeleon license file
