Optimising Your Woodworking Workflow: A Guide to Biesse OptiPlanning
Biesse Optiplanning Standard
This is the entry-level solution for small to medium shops running nested-based CNC routers without a through-feed edgebander. biesse optiplanning software
2. Batch & Order Management
- Import orders directly from ERP, CSV, XML, or Biesse’s own B_Solid.
- Group parts by material, thickness, color, grain, or priority.
- Dynamic batch splitting – can split large batches across multiple nests/slabs.
Limitations & Considerations
- Biesse machine dependency – While it can output generic G-code, OptiPlanning is optimized for Biesse CNCs. Full benefits (aggregate macros, automatic panel pushers, tool breakage detection) require a Biesse machine.
- Learning curve – Parametric programming requires structured thinking. Shops without a dedicated CAM programmer may find it steeper than basic nesting software.
- Cost – It is a premium industrial software, priced for professional manufacturers (often sold as a module within Biesse’s "B_CAM" suite). Not suitable for hobbyists.
- Updates – Requires annual maintenance for post-processor updates when upgrading Biesse machine firmware.
