Since I cannot directly upload a PDF file, I have compiled a "Top Bass Licks & Riffs" text-based guide below. You can copy, paste, and save this into a document to create your own PDF.
How to Get Them Legally & Free
TalkingBass.net – Free "Core Course" PDF includes 20 riffs.
StudyBass.com – Free lessons with downloadable PDF exercises.
No Treble (notreble.com) – Search "bass lick PDF" – many reader-submitted transcriptions.
YouTube + Description – Many bass teachers (e.g., BassBuzz, Dan Hawkins) offer free PDF download links in video descriptions.
Standard Notation AND Tablature: Leo could read tabs, but he wanted to learn sight-reading. The best PDFs had both lines stacked on top of each other.
Fingering Suggestions: A good PDF tells you which finger to use (index, middle, pinky). This is crucial for building speed and stamina.
Clear Layout: He skipped the PDFs that crammed 20 licks onto one page. He chose the ones that gave each lick space to breathe, often breaking it down measure by measure.
